LPC Intern/associate

Cultivating Minds is looking for LPC Interns/Associates to provide counseling services as a part of a private EAP service to local school districts.  Professionals who have an interest in supporting local educators and/or prior educational experience is preferred.  Must be available for counseling sessions after school hours, i.e., 3-7:00pm weekdays, am/pm weekends.  These EAP sessions may lead to referral to current intern or referring out to other therapists as needed.  Professional will be expected to be comfortable using telehealth platforms such as Doxy or Google Meet.

Please note this is a W-2 employment rather than contract position, so taxes will be withheld.


Requirements:

·      Provide application and resume, including at least 2 references.  If you wish to include a cover letter, please provide a well-written expression of clinical orientation, interest, and overall sense of the applicant.

·      Hold licensure as LPC Intern/Associate with the state of Texas and be supervised by a board approved LPC-S.

·      Provide proof of malpractice insurance at intern’s expense at time of employment.

·      Agree to sign Release of Information to allow Cultivating Minds to collaborate with LPC Supervisor to ensure client quality care.

Responsibilities:

·      Provide professional counseling services to clients of variety of backgrounds and experiences. 

·      Conduct counseling sessions via HIPAA secure telehealth platform unless agreed upon with Cultivating Minds.  Telehealth sessions must be conducted in a confidential space with reliable internet connection (stipend not included).

·      Follow procedures to contact, schedule, and counsel educators including the use of Google Suite products.

·      Provide evening and weekend availability for client sessions.

·      Provide therapy notes as required in a timely manner.

·      Follow Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council guidelines and licensure laws as well as other professional bodies responsible for establishing standards of care.

·      Consult with LPC Supervisor in all matters related to or that may impact services they provide.  Immediately notify and consult LPC Supervisor in the event they become involved in a legal or ethical issue. 

·      Supervision may be available upon request, by Melissa McGee, MA, LPC-S.

·      Direct client contact hours are not guaranteed.

Pay Rate:

Gross $30-36 per hour
